As in the previous couple of weeks, demand in the Turkish domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market has remained low over the past seven days, while the price increase anticipated in the market has been realized.
Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices have increased by $20/mt in the second quarter but only $10/mt of this increase has been reflected in HDG prices. However, it has been difficult to impose the price increases in question in trading activity. The anticipated price increase has been achieved over the past week amid unchanged HRC prices and despite soft iron ore prices and increasing demand in the export markets.
In the Turkish domestic market, HDG sales prices have increased by $5/mt and are currently as follows:
Product | Price ($/mt) |
HDG 0.50 mm 100gr/m² | 780-805 |
HDG 1 mm 100gr/m² | 730-750 |
HDG 2 mm 100gr/m² | 715-720 |
The above prices, which may differ depending on product quality, are ex-works, exclude VAT, and are for advance payments.
On the other hand, June production Turkish HDG export prices have also increased by $5/mt since last week and are now at $765-785/mt FOB.
