During the given week, steel plate prices have continued their declining trend as market participants mostly hold a pessimistic view of the future prospects for the market. Currently, steel plate prices in the spot market are lower than the prices at which traders bought the products they have in stock, and so traders are seeking to sell off their products and thus avoid larger losses in the future. In China, many regions have been hit by floods caused by the ongoing rainy weather condition, and this has negatively affected demand from downstream users. It is expected that steel plate prices in the Chinese domestic market will edge down further in the coming week.
