During the given week, domestic demand for steel plate has not shown any significant improvement, though the rebound in iron ore prices in the spot market and in the futures market has helped boost sentiment among participants in the steel plate market. Some traders have tried to increase their steel plate offer prices slightly following the sharp declines observed in the market previously. Meanwhile, a wait-and-see mood prevails in the market, especially ahead of the Labor Day holiday (May 1-3). It is expected that steel plate prices in the Chinese domestic market will move sideways in the coming week.
