SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that import flat steel purchases in Turkey are inactive due to the ongoing Feast of Sacrifice holiday and new import offers have not been announced yet. As Turkish buyers had delayed their purchases to the period after holiday, foreign suppliers are expected to announce their new prices next week after monitoring the intensity of the market. It is expected that new offers will be stable or slightly lower as compared to last month’s offers in line with downtrends seen in the global market.
The latest offers to Turkey for hot rolled coils (HRC) were at $540-545/mt CFR from Ukraine, $595-605/mt CFR from Romania, $600-605/mt CFR from Slovakia, $610–615/mt CFR from Italy and at $570–575/mt CFR from Russia, while offers for cold rolled coils (CRC) were at $630–640/mt from Ukraine and at $705–710/mt CFR from Romania.
Weekly price movements of different steel products in major markets can be viewed comparatively in the SteelOrbis Historical Steel Prices section. Market trends can thus be seen more clearly, while desired charts can be created and used in reports or presentations.
