New import offer prices for the Turkish flat steel market, which have gained clarity in the past two weeks, have been found to be on the high side by local buyers. Demand has remained weak in the Turkish flat steel market, while new import offers at higher than expected levels have caused buyers to adopt a wait-and-see stance.

Ex-Romania hot rolled coil (HRC) offers to Turkey are now ranging at $630-640/mt CFR, indicating an increase of $10-20/mt as compared to last month, while Ukrainian offers to Turkey have moved up by $5-15/mt to $590-595/mt CFR. Meanwhile, ex-Russian HRC offers have been revised upward by $10-20/mt over the same period to $620-640/mt CFR and newly offered Slovakian HRC prices to Turkey are ranging at $620-630/mt CFR.

On the other hand, Ukrainian cold rolled coil (CRC) offers to Turkey are now at levels of $670-655/mt CFR, moving up by $10/mt since last month, while Russian CRC offers have increased by $20/mt and are now in the range of $700-730/mt CFR. In addition, Romanian CRC offers are at $720-730/mt CFR, increasing by $20-25/mt over the past month.
