During the week ending June 1, in the Chinese domestic market average cold rolled coil (CRC) and cold rolled sheet (CRS) prices have softened, while transaction activity in the overall market has remained at low levels. Average cold rolled product prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, since demand from downstream users has been slack, market players are pessimistic are regards the future prospects for the domestic cold rolled market. Traders in the CRC market have cut their prices in a bid to stimulate sales activities, though transaction activity has remained slack. Currently, most regions of China have entered the rainy season, which has weakened demand for cold rolled materials. It is expected that CRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely soften further in the coming week.
