NAS, AK Steel and Outokumpu announce stainless price increases for early September

North American Stainless (NAS), AK Steel and Outokumpu have increased prices on stainless flat rolled effective with shipments in early September.

According to the North American Stainless Steel press release, continuous mill plate price will be increased by $60/nt while the cold rolled series functional discount will be reduced by two points.

According to an AK Steel press release, for commodity sheet and strip, specialty sheet and strip, and pipe and tube sheet and strip products, the increase will be achieved through a reduction in the functional discount of two points. For all remaining stainless steel products, including automotive sheet and strip, base prices will be increased by $40/nt.

According to Outokumpu’s press release, Outokumpu Coil Americas will implement the following price increase on all non-contract orders beginning September 1: cold rolled series through a reduction in the discount by two points, CMP base price increased by $0.03/lb and polish discount reduced 10 points.
