SteelOrbis has been informed that price levels in the Vietnamese flat steel market now have less support due to the impact of the monsoon rains on demand.

Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the Vietnamese domestic market currently stand at VND 12,400-12,450/kg ($586-588/mt) ex-warehouse, while cold rolled coil (CRC) prices are at VND 15,300-15,400/kg ($723-728/mt) ex-works, with both price ranges unchanged over the past two weeks. Meanwhile, prices of rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness have remained in the range of VND 13,000-13,150/kg ($614-621/mt) ex-warehouse.

On the other hand, Chinese HRC offers to Vietnam have decreased by $3/mt over the past two weeks to $518/mt CFR, while Chinese offers for rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness stand at $530-535/mt CFR, decreasing by $5/mt over the same period.
