There has been a little bit of shuffle in the US import hot dipped galvanized (HDG) market since our last report a week ago, and although China may still be quietly offering to the US, trader sources say they are pretty much “out of the market”. The general consensus, according to SteelOrbis sources, is that a trade case could drop at any given moment (although everyone seems to have varying opinions in terms of what the magic date will be), and no one wants to get left holding the bag. Prices from India, as expected, have ticked up slightly since our last report a week ago due to increased zinc costs, and there are also rumors that Brazilian mills have entered the market and are aggressively pursuing Galvalume orders.
