Mexican HDG prices see slight downturn

Mexican domestic hot dipped galvanized (HDG) prices fell US$5/mt in the last two weeks to reach US$939/mt ex-mill.

Despite the downtick in pricing (which counters the uptick in CRC prices this week), demand for flat steels in Mexico is still looking up.

Officials of the state of Nuevo Leon said that the municipality of Pesquería becoming known as "the capital of steel" due to new foreign automakers constantly making investments, with Kia as the latest.
