Mexican domestic hot dipped galvanized (HDG) prices increased US$10/mt in the last two weeks to reach US$944/mt ex-mill.

Industry sources are confident that once the summer’s slowdown ends, the prices should still maintain at this level until the end of the year.
Auto industry sources who are providers of automotive OEMs are still trying to reduce imports of these inputs because eventually these companies will alter their requirements for suppliers.

"Such companies will not always be able to import because of strong transportation and logistics costs; they will find that their suppliers are as close as possible to the lowest price and want to avoid problems of a shortage."
