In the last two weeks, the price of Mexican domestic cold rolled coil (CRC) increased $20/mt to reach $578/mt ex-mill.

As for the market in general, the appreciation of the dollar versus the peso has favored flat steel prices in recent weeks. However, sources predict that this jump will not be maintained over the coming weeks, with variations in small increments between $0.50 and $1.00.

While the domestic market demand for automotive plants and the aviation industry are a guarantee for the flat steel, it is also expected that the energy sector will soon constitute a significant source of demand.
