May output flat steel import offers to Turkey begin to gain clarity

May production new flat steel import offers for Turkey have started to become clear, though demand for these offers is low in line with weak flat steel demand in the Turkish domestic market.
 
Accordingly, hot rolled coil (HRC) import prices to Turkey have continued to decline in new offers, while buyers are waiting for prices to become clearer in order to conclude new bookings. In the meantime, it is yet to be seen to what extent producers will accept counter bids.
 
Russian HRC offers to Turkey have decreased by $10-20/mt as compared to last month to $600-610/mt CFR, while cold rolled coil (CRC) offers have dropped by $30/mt to $690-715/mt CFR. In the meantime, Slovakian HRC offers to Turkey are now standing at $590-595/mt CFR after a drop of $20/mt from the previous month's levels.
 
On the other hand, some sources have yet to announce their new flat steel offers for Turkey for May production. Among these sources, Romania was offering HRC to Turkey at $610-620/mt CFR and CRC at $710-715/mt CFR, while Ukraine's HRC and CRC offers were standing at $575-580/mt CFR and
$660-665/mt CFR respectively.
