According to market sources, demand for hot dip galvanized (HDG) products in the local Turkish market has continued to be characterized by slackness during the past week, while discounts are still available depending on buyers and tonnages. Market sources state that Turkish buyers prefer to stand back and observe the market before concluding deals in April.

In the Turkish domestic market, HDG sales prices have remained stable week on week for May production and are currently as follows:

Product

Price ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

620-670

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

580-610

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

560-580

The above prices, which may differ depending on product quality, are ex-works, exclude VAT, and are for advance payments.

Meanwhile, Turkish producers' HDG offers to the export markets have remained stable week on week in the range of $620-670 mt FOB. Market players state that Turkish HDG export activity has stalled after the export deals concluded last week.
