During the week ending July 30, Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices have moved on a downward trend, while overall transaction activity in the market has remained at low levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, semi-finished steel prices have generally moved on a stable trend in China, though there have been price declines in some regions, which have weakened support for HDG prices. Meanwhile, large HDG traders' transaction activities are only 60-70 percent of normal levels. The hot weather conditions in China have negatively affected activities. It is expected that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will continue their downtrend in the coming week.
