During the week ending August 19, prices in the Chinese domestic cold rolled coil (CRC) market have softened slightly, while transaction activity in the overall market has been at low levels. Average CRC prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the table below.
During the given week, inventory levels in the local CRC market have been slightly higher than in the previous week. Meanwhile, major Chinese steelmakers Baosteel and Wuhan Iron and Steel have issued their ex-works prices for September delivery, keeping their prices stable. It is expected that CRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will move sideways in the coming week.
