Local Turkish HRC market moves sideways ahead of approaching holiday

Demand for Turkish producers’ hot rolled coil (HRC) products in their domestic market has remained slack in the past week, since buyers have been postponing their HRC purchases due to the stagnancy of the market during Ramadan, while trading activity has almost slowed to a halt ahead of the end-of-Ramadan holiday. Accordingly, Turkish producers have this week kept their HRC prices for their domestic market unchanged at $440-470/mt ex-works, expecting that the market will recovery slightly following the holiday.

Meanwhile, demand has also remained slack in the local Turkish HRC spot market since buyers plan to make purchases after Ramadan, while traders have kept their spot prices stable, expecting trading activity to accelerate slightly after Ramadan.
