While demand has remained weak in the local Turkish hot rolled coil (HRC) market in the current week, Turkish producers have continued to increase their HRC prices, supported by the decent volume of orders received in previous weeks and by export sales. Turkish HRC producers have increased their domestic prices this week by $10/mt to $550-570/mt ex-works.
Ahead of the referendum to be held on April 16, demand has remained weak in the local Turkish HRC spot market HRC amid ongoing availability problems. Traders have kept their prices unchanged this week, while market sources do not expect to see any recovery in demand until after the referendum.
The domestic sales prices of traders for local and imported hot rolled flat steel products in the Eregli and Gebze regions of Turkey are as follows:
Product | Price ($/mt) | |
Eregli | Gebze | |
2-12 mm HRC | 560-570 | 570-590 |
