Local Turkish HDG market continues its rising trend

Demand in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) market has remained low in the past week, since increased prices have failed to gain acceptance from buyers, with buyers only concluding domestic HDG bookings to meet their immediate needs. However, following the average $40/mt rise in Turkish steel mills’ prices of hot rolled coil (HRC), Turkish HDG producers have also raised their local HDG prices by $50/mt on the upper end week on week.

Meanwhile, HDG prices in the local Turkish market for May production are currently as follows:

Product

Price ($/mt)

Change ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

700-800

↑50 on the upper end

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

640-720

↑50 on the upper end

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

610-685

↑50 on the upper end

The above prices, which may differ depending on product quality, are ex-works, exclude VAT, and are for advance payments.

Meanwhile, Turkish producers’ HDG export prices have remained stable week on week in the range of $700-720/mt FOB for May production, while buyers consider ex-Turkey HDG offers to be on the high side.
