This week, demand in the local Turkish cold rolled coil (CRC) market for domestic producers’ products has continued to be characterized by weakness since buyers still consider current prices to be on the high side, while Turkish producers have maintained their prices unchanged over the past week at $640-660/mt ex-works. Meanwhile, import CRC offers to Turkey from overseas producers have remained unchanged as compared to the previous month, resulting in increased pressure from Turkish buyers on local producers’ prices.
Meanwhile, buyers in the local Turkish CRC spot market continue to adopt a cautious stance and to make bookings only to meet their immediate needs due to the sharp fluctuations of the US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate. Turkish traders CRC offers to their domestic market have also remained unchanged week on week.
