Against the backdrop of the Easter holiday, prices in the local Italian flat steel market have remained stable.

Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices are still at €350/mt ($396/mt), cold rolled coil (CRC) prices have remained at €410/mt ($463/mt), while hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices are still at €410-420/mt ($463-475/mt), all ex-works.

Just as in our last report, Italian and European producers are still unwilling to give discounts, while demand from service centers has improved in the month of March and is currently at good levels.

Most market players think that a new price increase may be seen in the Italian market soon.
