Prices in the local Italian flat steel market have increased over the past week. Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices have risen by €10/mt ($11/mt) on the higher end to €420-470/mt ($458-512/mt), while cold rolled coil (CRC) and hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil prices have increased by €10/mt ($11/mt) to €540-570/mt ($589-621/mt) and €520-550/mt ($567-600/mt) respectively, all ex-works and for delivery in January and February.

In the meantime, demand is not great and transaction volumes are decreasing also because buyers are still reluctant to book orders for delivery next year.

On the import side, offers are few and are mainly from India and Turkey, but prices are not interesting for Italian buyers.
