Local Chinese HRC market trends up

Tuesday, 14 June 2016 11:24:13 (GMT+3)   |   Shanghai

During the week ending June 14, average hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the Chinese domestic market have increased, while transaction activity in the overall market has been at low levels. Average HRC prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.

During the given week, due to increases seen in HRC futures prices, HRC prices in the domestic spot market have edged up, while transaction activities have not recorded any significant improvement. Meanwhile, steel production restrictions as of June 14 in Tangshan due to environmental protection measures will exert a positive impact on the trend of HRC prices. It is thought that HRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely remain on a rising trend in the coming week.
