Latest situation in Vietnamese flat steel market

Demand has remained sluggish in the Vietnamese flat steel market, while Chinese flat steel import offers are trending sideways.

Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the Vietnamese domestic market are at $560-565/mt ex-warehouse, while cold rolled coil (CRC) prices stand at $680-685/mt ex-works. Meanwhile, rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness is now being quoted at $575-585/mt ex-warehouse.

On the import side, Chinese HRC offers to Vietnam are at $565-575/mt CFR, while only small volumes of transactions are being concluded. In the meantime, offers for rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness from China stand at $585-590/mt CFR, while offers from Japan are at $610-615/mt CFR, and South Korean offers are at $620/mt CFR.
