According to market sources, demand in the pre-painted galvanized (PPGI) coil market has remained weak. While PPGI prices in the local market have declined by $15-45/mt over the past week, $5-10/mt discounts are still available for large volumes.
Meanwhile, Turkish mills' prices for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI have declined by $45/mt over the same period to $930-940/mt ex-works. Offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm have decreased by $20/mt to $800-840/mt ex-works and prices for RAL 9002 1 mm moved down by $15/mt to $750-760/mt ex-works, week on week. All the offers in question exclude 18 percent VAT, and are for February and March production.
On the other hand, demand for Turkish PPGI is still slack in the export markets. Ex-Turkey PPGI offers have declined by $10/mt on the lower end during the past week to the range of $790-830/mt FOB for shipments in February and March.
