Latest situation for Turkey’s flat steel exports

Demand for Turkish flat steel exports has remained slack over the past week. Turkish hot rolled coil (HRC) offers to the export markets have remained unchanged over the past week in the range of $390-400/mt FOB, while Turkish cold rolled coil (CRC) export offers are still at $520-525/mt FOB.

Meanwhile, Chinese export offers are expected to continue to soften amid the ongoing declining trend of iron ore prices. Chinese export offers are still considered to be on the low side, exposing Turkish producers to challenging conditions in their targeted export markets. Market sources state that Turkish producers have been focusing on their local market due to livelier domestic demand, and so their export sales have declined.
