According to market sources, demand for import steel plate in Turkey has been slack over the past two months.

In August, ex-Ukraine shipbuilding plate offers to Turkey were at $400/mt CFR and a deal was concluded at this price level. Over the past two months, Ukrainian shipbuilding plate offers to Turkey have increased by $12.5/mt on average to $410-415/mt CFR. However, this price level has failed to gain acceptance from Turkish buyers.

Meanwhile, Macedonian hot rolled plate (HRP) offers to Turkey have remained stable in the range of $570-580/mt CFR over the past two months. Besides, no ex-Bulgaria HRP offers to Turkey have been heard in the same period, while the most recent Bulgarian HRP offers were at €420-430/mt ($470-482/mt) CIF two months ago.
