Italian coated flat steel demand shows no improvement

Coated flat steel demand in Italy is still very weak and this is causing prices to trend downwards, similar to other flat steel prices in the country. Market players state that they are not expecting any change in prices in the short term, adding that the direction of prices will be downward if any price adjustments are made.
 
In the Italian domestic market, 0.6 mm HDG prices are at €690/mt ($873/mt), while prices for 100 gr/m² zinc coated RAL 9001 pre-painted sheet of 0.6 mm thickness are standing at €850/mt ($1,075/mt), both ex-warehouse.
 
In the meantime, SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that Indian 0.6 mm PPGI offers to Italy are standing at €800/mt ($1,012/mt) CFR, while Indian offers for 0.6 mm hot dip galvanized (HDG) sheet are at €650/mt ($822/mt) CFR.
