In the Turkish domestic market, where demand has been stagnant for a long time, import plate offers have remained unchanged as compared to price levels in early December. Market sources tell SteelOrbis that Bulgarian steelmaker Stomana has again given offers to Turkey, but Stomana considers current interest from Europe to be sufficient and so it is not clear if it will respond to demand from Turkey.

Currently, steel plate offers to Turkey given by Ukrainian steel producer Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works are still standing at $565-570/mt CFR, while another Ukrainian mill Ilyich Iron & Steel Works is offering plate to Turkey at the base price level of $560-570/mt CFR. In addition, Macedonian mill Makstil's offers are still standing at $700-710/mt CFR and Stomana's offers are at €500-510/mt ($655-668/mt) CFR. All the offers above are for January output.
