Import HRC and slab prices decrease for Turkey

Demand for import hot rolled coil (HRC) in Turkey has remained slack this week due to the expectations in the market for a further decline in prices. However, a booking of 15,000 mt of Chinese HRC by a Turkish steel pipe producer was heard at $360-365/mt CFR this week.

Meanwhile, CIS-based exporters’ HRC offers to Turkey have decreased by $30/mt week on week to $410-440/mt CFR, due to slack demand and the downtrend of HRC prices in the Turkish domestic market.

On the other hand, ex-CIS slab offers to Turkey, which were not heard for a long time, have started to be heard at $330-350/mt FOB this week.
