Import HRC and CRC offers to Turkey increase

In Turkish flat steel market, demand for imported material has followed a sideways trend in line with demand for domestic flat steel products, while foreign producers have announced their new flat steel offers for the Turkish market. The new flat steel import offers to Turkey have increased as compared to last month, due to the general uptrend in the global markets as well as higher raw material prices and increased Turkish domestic flat steel prices. However, buyers are still cautious as regards concluding new import transactions, just as they are also cautious regarding the price increases in the domestic market.
 
In the meantime, the imposition of a 10 percent import duty for cold rolled coils narrower than 600 mm has caused a certain decline in demand for imports of slitted cold rolled coils (CRC), which are used primarily in the white goods industry.
 
Hot rolled coil (HRC) import offers from Romania to Turkey have increased by $15/mt to $590-600/mt CFR, while Ukrainian HRC offers to Turkey are now standing at $575-580/mt CFR - up $30/mt and Russian offers at $585-630/mt CFR - up $15-20/mt, all compared to last month.
 
On the other hand, Ukrainian CRC offers to Turkey have reached $660-665/mt CFR, rising by $25-30/mt, while Russian CRC offers have moved up by $30/mt, reaching $720/mt CFR for thicknesses of 0.51 mm and above and rising to $750/mt CFR for materials thinner than 0.51 mm. In the meantime, Romanian CRC offers to Turkey have increased by $10-20/mt to $680-700/mt CFR. All comparisons are made as compared to last month.
