Import HRC and CRC demand remains stable in Turkey

This month in the Turkish import flat steel market, demand for all products has remained moderate. Ukrainian steel mill Zaporizhstal has filled and closed its hot rolled coil (HRC) quota for Turkey for the current month at $580/mt CFR, while other offshore sources have continued to give flat steel offers to Turkey.  As new price levels failed to attract attention early this month, foreign mills had started to accept firm bids and concluded deals, while these mills are still ready to respond to firm bids from Turkish buyers, as reported. On the other hand, Romania is not offering coil to Turkey at present, though it is offering plate.

Currently, Ukrainian mills' HRC offers to the Turkish market are standing at $560-565/mt CFR, while European HRC offers to Turkey are standing at the base price level of $620-640/mt CFR. On the other hand, Russian HRC offers are still at $605/mt CFR and ex-Russia cold rolled coil (CRC) offers are at $670-720/mt CFR.
