In the Syrian flat steel market, 0.4 mm 100 gr/m² zinc coated hot dip galvanized (HDG) steel offers given from China are at $930/mt, while offers given from the UAE to the same destination for the same material stand at $1,020-1,030/mt CFR, both for June shipments.
While it is reported that demand for HDG is not so bad in the Syrian domestic market, local buyers prefer to buy HDG from China since Chinese HDG offers are more competitive than others.
In the domestic market, the price of 0.5 mm HDG stands at SYP 47,000/mt ($990/mt).
