SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that import flat steel purchases in Turkey have been completed, while new price levels are now awaited. It is expected that flat steel import prices, which decreased by $10–20/mt last month, will trend sideways or increase slightly this month.
Although prices have decreased in the global market, the outlook for the domestic flat rolled market in Turkey is positive as orders given to Turkish buyers are at good levels, local demand is robust and buyers are ordering for December production flat rolled instead of November production. Due to these factors, it is expected that prices will increase in the local Turkish market and that import offers will also see upward movement.
The latest offers to Turkey for hot rolled coils (HRC) were at $525-530/mt CFR from Ukraine, $570-580/mt CFR from Romania, $560-570/mt CFR from Slovakia and at $560–570/mt CFR from Russia, while offers for cold rolled coils (CRC) were at $610–620/mt CFR from Ukraine and at $680–690/mt CFR from Romania.
