SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that flat steel demand in the UAE has remained steady, though transactions are for smaller tonnages.

Chinese hot rolled coil (HRC) offers to the UAE have increased lately, reaching $700-740/mt CFR depending on the thickness of material and on the producer, while Indian flat steel mills' HRC offers to the country are at $680-690/mt FOB. In previous weeks, Iran's HRC sales price for the Middle Eastern markets was at $620/mt FOB.

The UAE market is waiting to receive new HRC offers from Russian and Ukrainian producers.
