Spot market prices for US domestic hot rolled galvanized (HDG) and Galvalume coil may have maintained their sideways trend; sources close to SteelOrbis say they do not expect to see any marked fluctuation in pricing for the duration of the month.
As such, the most commonly heard transaction rage continues to hold at $39.50-$41.00 cwt. ($871-$904/mt or $790-$820/nt), ex-mill.
“All in all the market is good. The economy is growing and all signs point to a steady price trend, with the possibility of additional price increases from flats mills in September,” a source said.
