Even though both local and export prices of Turkish pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) have declined this week and interest in offers has improved slightly, demand is still on the weak side. However, market players believe that demand in both the domestic and export markets will record a recovery in the coming weeks thanks to the current downward price trend.

Turkish mills' local offers for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are standing at $1,010-1,050/mt, while offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $870-910/mt and prices for RAL 9002 1 mm stand at $790-820/mt. All the offers in question, which have declined by $10/mt since last week, are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.

In the meantime, ex-Turkey PPGI offers have decreased by $20/mt over the same period and now vary at $850-890/mt FOB, for November production.
