Ex-Midwest mill lead times for US domestic cold rolled coil (CRC) continue to trend at approximately six to eight weeks, with many sources close to SteelOrbis noting that spot prices continue to hold steady.

The most commonly reported spot price transaction range for US domestic cold rolled coil (CRC) has held lateral since our last report a week ago, at $41-$42 cwt. ($904-$926/mt or $820-$840/nt), ex-Midwest mill.

“Things ran up so fast during the first part of the year that it seems as if a lot of the mils are content to have things hold sideways,” one source said.

In terms of imports, trader sources say that US import CRC from Vietnam and Turkey continue to be available at a US sales price of $30-$32 cwt. ($661-$705/mt or $600-$640/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports, although some traders say they see most deals trending $1.00 cwt. ($22/mt or $20/nt) above the $30 cwt. range.
