Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the local Portuguese market have remained unchanged as compared to last week; while local producer Lusosider's domestic offers for hot dip galvanized coil (HDG) have dropped by €20/mt ($26/mt). In the import market, on the other hand, Italian and Spanish origin flat steel offers to Portugal have followed a sideways trend, while demand has remained weak.
SteelOrbis has learned that in the Portuguese flat steel market the prices of HRC are still standing at €515/mt ($670/mt) ex-works. In addition, ex-Spain HRC offers are at €520/mt ($676/mt) base, while Italian HRC offers to Portugal are standing at €495/mt ($644/mt) base price level and cold rolled coil (CRC) offers of Italy to Portugal are at €595/mt ($774/mt) base level. All the prices in question are for October output.
On the other hand, local producer Lusosider's October rolling base offers for hot dip galvanized (HDG) for October production are now standing at €570/mt ($741/mt) ex-works, while ex-Italy October rolling HDG offers stand at €560/mt ($728/mt) CFR.
