A source from a major exporter in Brazil told SteelOrbis that his last HDG export deal was closed at $770/mt, FOB conditions, having the G40 grade, 4.75mm thickness product as reference.

The price compares with $735/mt FOB last month, in an increase destined to set the price in line with international prices, chiefly in the US, the source said.

In February, CSN exported 31,200 mt of HDG at $773/mt, Usiminas exported 5,000 mt at $891/mt and ArcelorMittal exported 3,500 mt at $875, mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in December 2016.

The main destinations were South America (20,416 mt, of which 18,800 mt to Argentina) and the US (18,000 mt).
