The most commonly reported spot price transaction range for US domestic hot dipped galvanized (HDG) may have remained steady since our last report a week ago, although sources close to SteelOrbis cite an increased belief that “if anyone showed up wanting to book a few hundred tons, they could easily get deals below that range”; Galvalume prices, which were also seen as being increasingly flexible toward the middle to late part of September, have also continued along this trend. On the flip side of that coin, few, if anyone is looking to stockpile their inventories at this point and if anything, buyers are placing orders on an as-needed basis in order to fill gaps.
