This week, foreign demand for Turkish flat steel products has been moderate, except for hot rolled coils (HRC) for which demand remains at relatively low levels. The increased inquiry volume coming from foreign buyers has been welcomed by Turkish producers, while demand is expected to improve further after Ramadan. In the meantime, although the domestic market mood is upbeat on the prospects for HRC, overseas demand for these products has remained below expectations.

Currently, Turkish HRC export offers are standing at $600-610/mt FOB, decreasing by $10/mt since last week, while cold rolled coil (CRC) export offers are at $740-750/mt FOB. Turkey's hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil and pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) offers have remained unchanged from the previous week at $810-820/mt and $920-940/mt respectively, both ex-works.
