This week producers of flat steel in Russia have entered the local market with offers for March production materials. The mills have announced their list prices with increases of between five and eight percent in their offer prices, though final prices will be decided in negotiations with buyers and are expected to be determined by the end of month. Russian flat steel producers have revised their prices upward citing the current trends in the local market, expectations for a seasonal renewal of demand and high production costs. Another factor is the weakening of the ruble against the US dollar. Producers are so far not willing to give extra discounts. However, discounts depending on buyers' order volumes and location are still available.
