On September 5, SteelOrbis reported ex-China flat steel offers to Chile for HRC at $590-600/mt CFR, CRC at $640-650/mt CFR, and HDG at $725-740/mt CFR.

According to sources, offer prices on flat steel from China to Chile are now reported for HRC at $595-600/mt CFR, CRC at $640-650/mt CFR, and HDG at $725-735/mt CFR. The new ranges represent an increase of $5/mt on HRC on the lower end, stable level on CRC, and a reduction of $5/mt from the top of the HDG range.

The mixed outlook in the market and desire to move inventory were noted by a source as the reasons for offers from China to remain “subdued and rangebound for the flat categories.”
