On June 12, SteelOrbis reported Chinese flat steel offers to Chile for HRC at $460-475/mt CFR, CRC at $495-505/mt CFR, and HDG at $560-575/mt CFR.

According to sources, those offers have most recently been heard for HRC at $465-480/mt CFR, CRC at $490-500/mt CFR, and HDG at $565-585/mt CFR. These ranges translate to an increase of $5/mt on HRC, a decline of $5/mt on CFR, and an increase of $5/mt on the bottom of the HDG range and $10/mt on the top of the same range.

A source noted that the number of offers are less than usual as some Chinese traders are reportedly holding off on offers given the expectations of increasing prices on HRC and HDG in the Chinese domestic market which could increase export prices for late July and August shipments. CRC offer prices are believed to have declined in the short-term due to high inventories and dampened demand for the grade from the EU and other regions.
