Outokumpu, Aperam and Acciai Speciali Terni, leading stainless steel producers in Europe, have announced their alloy surcharges for October. Having declined throughout September, the cash seller and settlement nickel price at London Metal Exchange (LME) closed at $16,505/mt on September 30, indicating a total decrease of $1.928/mt compared to the end of August. However, the significant decline in nickel prices has not impacted on the producers' alloy surcharges which have increased independently of the nickel price trend.
