During the past week, demand in the European flat steel market has remained weak and prices have maintained their downward trend. However, as prices of raw material and flat steel in the global markets have started to move up, European flat steel prices are expected to indicate upticks in the short term.

Flat rolled steel prices in Europe have softened by €20/mt over the past week, with hot rolled coil (HRC) prices moving down to €430-470/mt ($490-536/mt), cold rolled coil (CRC) prices falling to €530-570/mt ($604-650/mt) and hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil prices down to €560-610/mt ($638-695/mt), all ex-works.
