Demand in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market has declined slightly as buyers in the market have slowed down their purchases due to the approaching Feast of Sacrifice holiday (Aug. 31-Sept. 4), while domestic HDG prices have continued their upward movement in the same period. Turkish coated steel mills’ production costs have increased amid the rises seen in hot rolled coil (HRC) quotations in both the Turkish and international markets, while they have raised their domestic HDG prices with the additional support of their fairly full order books.
Domestic producers’ HDG prices in the local Turkish market, excluding 18 percent VAT, are currently as follows:

Weekly Change ($/mt) |
HDG 0.50 mm 100gr/m² |

Meanwhile, Turkish mills’ HDG export quotations have increased by $20/mt week on week to $780-810/mt FOB.
