According to market sources, demand in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) market has remained quiet during the past week, while prices have been stable in the same period. Buyers are still purchasing only in line with their needs.

Meanwhile, HDG prices in the local Turkish market for January production are currently as follows:

Product

Price ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

590-610

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

535-555

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

515-525

The above prices, which may differ depending on product quality, are ex-works, exclude VAT, and are for advance payments
.

Meanwhile, demand for Turkish HDG in the export markets is very weak, while Turkish exporters' HDG offers have moved down by $20/mt on the lower end and decreased by $30/mt on the upper end week on week to $550-570/mt FOB, for December and January production. However, buyers still consider Turkish HDG prices to be very high and find them unacceptable, leading to a sharp fall in the number of actual deals being concluded.
