According to market sources, demand for hot dip galvanized (HDG) products in the local Turkish market has decreased significantly in the past week ahead of the approaching end-of-Ramadan holiday and is currently at weak levels. Market sources state that demand is expected to rise slightly after Ramadan.

In the Turkish domestic market, HDG sales prices have remained unchanged during the past week for August production and are currently as follows:

Product

Price ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

620-660

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

580-600

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

560-570

The above prices, which may differ depending on product quality, are ex-works, exclude VAT, and are for advance payments.

Meanwhile, demand for Turkish HDG in the foreign markets has remained weak in the same period, while market players state that the volume of inquiries from buyers for Turkish HDG has declined significantly. Turkish producers' HDG offers to the export markets have remained stable over the past week at $610-660/mt FOB, for August production.
